Research shows: Red wine and chocolate reduces the risk of wrinkles

Do you like dark chocolate? Do you like red wine? If the answer to both of these questions is yes then you’re going to be delighted with these researcher’s new discovery!

A new study shows that both have a rejuvenating effect on the skin, therefore countering wrinkles.

“When I saw some of the cells in the culture dish rejuvenating I couldn’t believe it. These old cells were looking like young cells. It was like magic,” says researcher Eva Latorre.

Together with a team of researchers in England, Eva Latorre studied how wine and dark chocolate affects the body’s cells. In the experiment, researchers used red wine, dark chocolate, red grapes and blueberries.

They all contain chemicals that are known to be anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

Rejuvenated in just a few hours
When they treated the cells with the chemical substances of these foods, the researchers could see that the cells were rejuvenated just a few hours after treatment, which Eva Latorre describes as being “like magic”.

New way to slow down aging
Now scientists hope their discovery can be used to slow down the body’s aging, by resetting functions of those aging.

“This is a first step in trying to make people live normal lifespans, but with health for their entire life,” research leader Professor Lorna Harries said in an interview with The University of Exeter.

I can think of worse ways to try and counter wrinkles than to eat chocolate and drink red wine.

I’m pretty happy with this research discovery, anyway! Share if you know anyone else who’ll be glad to hear about it.
